Singer Dirk Thurisch once fronted the mighty ANGEL DUST and since their second reunion in 2010 he is back with them again. But, once they were slowly fading into sleep in the middle of the last decade, he had already started a new project or let us say band, MERCURY TIDE, a group that continued where ANGEL DUST left off, just with a bit more elegance and melody. I would compare MERCURY TIDE to SAVATAGE when they discovered the more operatic and bombastic style in 1991 or to their successors CIRCLE II CIRCLE, which shall be taken as a compliment. Even though MERCURY TIDE do it their very own way on their second album, which comes nine years after the first. Well, sometimes you get hit by a wave of creativity and have to let it all out, which brings us a wonderful CD with a very dynamical songwriting. While melodic yet powerful heavy metal still builds the spine of the musical approach, there are many more mellow, haunting sections here that bring pictures of a dark movie to your mind which only exists in your imagination.
