A nice little gem on the italian Dream Evil Records label, famous for the Metal Inquisitor / Ritual Steel Split 7" a few years ago. Hamburg's speed metal heroes Not Fragile deliver two powerful tracks from their 2003 album "Yesterday's heroes", the title track, a coverversion of an old Bay City Rollers classic plus a giant speedmetal shredder named immortal legions. Both songs are well executed in the typical hamburgian way, fast and quite melodic, but never too pathetical. Bebbo's voice is quite unique in sound, maybe a little bit comparable to good ol' Kai Hansen in the very early days of Helloween. Good stuff all in all for fans of fine teutonic speed. Blazing Guns hail from Sweden and give us the title track of their last demo "1876 (an ode to the brave)", whose plot is set around the sacrificial ride of General Custer and his cavallery unit towards the Little Big Horn river, the only time american indians were victorious in a direct battle against the white occupants. Excellent epic stuff, ranging from slow paced, heartfilled passages to anthemic mid tempo sections and some eruptive moments. A giant mix between early Manowar and Iron Maiden at their peak. All in all a split 7" for the real metal maniacs.
