Long may they rawk, oh, these metalheads from Spain. Even some 35 years after their initial foundation, this bunch of Spanish folks is still going strong on their umpteenth album, rawking the hell out of their instruments. ZARPA know to forge anthems of steel as we, the metal maniacs, demand them to be. Straight, catchy, uncomplicated with massive riffs and simmering hot leads, vocals raw and honest but always melodic and emotional, melodies that will stick with our mind even when we sleep and dream plus pounding rhythms, some fast and driving, some stomping and crushing but always wickedly heavy, heavy, heavy. These guys know how to deliver the goods and to write songs for eternity while staying absolutely heavy metal without expanding or even touching the borders of the style. This is the highest art of making music. They sound as fresh as any album did in 1980, when this style was young. A masterpiece, but you have to be into the use of their mother tongue for the lyrics. Massive!!!
