This is a beautiful mixture of melodic rock, symphonic metal, very obvious elements of late 70s AOR stuff and some hard driving speedmetal, done by a group of youngsters from Italy, namely ANANKE. A nice sounding mixture by the way, for there is depth with the euphoric but not oversugared melodies, there is power from the guitars, even though the keyboards are at least on a similar level with the axes. The mood is definitely euphoric throughout the whole album, but there are little changes here and there. The playing is solid with a few ornaments that keeps the listener interested. It’s nothing innovative, just great melodic metal, not overall speedy. If you like KALEDON for lunch, this is the right breakfast.
