Damien Thorne used to play wild and wicked Powermetal with screaming and shredding guitars, blistering rhythms, flashing leads and high pitched, yet aggressive vocals. The songs were mostly speeding straight ahead, some mid paced passages were rolling over you like a tank, but they always showed a certain grade of complexity as well. The melodies are furious, infernal passion poures out of the licks and riffs that build those classic powermetal punches. Don't expect any of those current powermetal influences, Damien Thorne had their songs filled with life, magick and passion. The playing skills were on a high level, while the vocals came directly out of the throat without being too technically overwhelming but they showed heartfilled rage. This is what makes great powermetal and nothing else.
